Biomedical treatment of autism through HBOT

The available bio-medical treatments for Autism can be categorized in to two distinctive categories. On one hand, there are the Immediate Feedback Therapies while on the other hand are the Long-term Feedback Therapies. Quite likely as the names suggest, the former is the category of treatments that are potent to show immediate results and improvements while the second category of treatments necessarily have a longer approach extended over a prolonged period of time.

Some of the Immediate Feedback Therapies are,

  • Nutritional and dietetic changes
  • Treatment using yeast and bacteria
  • Provide support using various supplements
  • Methylation support

According to medical experts all of these methods show changes and improvements if any within just the first month or 6 weeks at the most for the initiation of the treatment and implementation process. Such biomedical therapies tend to give an extended level of confidence to the parents who most often than not choose to continue with these methods only.

But on the other hand, in case you want to get your child treated with the Long-term Feedback Therapies, what’s necessary is a lot of patience as the results are due in a long period. Some of the common long-term feedback therapies include,

  • Heavy metal detox (metals like mercury)
  • Chelation therapy
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT
  • Intravenous immunoglobulin therapy (IVIG)
  • Transfer factor

Like most of the other long-term feedback therapies, the hyperbaric therapy too shows positive results like improved awareness, improved eye contact capacities, increased language articulation and speaking capabilities, etc. But all of these changes can be visible only after a few months of implementation of the HBOT therapy or the other methods mentioned. Exceptions do exist as sometimes there are a few fortunate children who get to see immediate results and improvements in condition while being treated with Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) or some other long-term feedback procedures.

Most of the HBOT therapy protocol techniques are structured in a standard way, but in case the doctor wants to bring about certain immediate changes for specific reasons, the structure can be planned in a away with an increased number of sessions to serve the purpose more effectively. The Hyperbaric Therapy is always held in a clinical setting ensuring a limited time to be spent in the chamber. In fact, HBOT happens to be one of the most highly held and popular long-term feedback therapies that have ensured better results in treatment of Autism.
